A Taste of Spanish

It would be excellent to know a small amount of Spanish if you are coming to Guate Linda. You might find it significantly helpful should anything unforeseeable happen. While we've made these files of Latin American Spanish to help you, these files require version 7.45 of Apple's Quicktime or greater on your computer.

If you need to say "No", saying "No" in English should be the same sound. In Español, it is better manners to say "No thank you" or "No gracias" than to speak a simple "No". For example, if someone tries to sell you something, or invite you into their coffee shop, "No gracias" is all you need to say.

You might consider purchasing a small Berlitz Phrase book and a Harper Collins Beginner's Spanish Dictionary (ISBN 0-06-273754-6) before you leave for Guatemala.
